The ADEME is an industrial and commercial public body headed jointly by the French ministries for the environment, energy and research. It undertakes initiatives in the following fields: air, noise, waste, energy, environmental management, polluted sites and ground, and transport.

The EBB groups together major biodiesel producers from the EU and promotes the use of biodiesel in Europe.
French institute for the environment
The IFEN is the statistics department of France’s ministry of the environment, as defined in the French law of 7 June 1951. On behalf of the state, it conducts the environmental investigations provided for in the annual programme defined by the France’s national council for statistical information and approved by the ministry responsible for the INSEE (French institute for statistics and economic studies).
