The general activity of ITERG is shared between research activities (50%) and trading activities excluding research (40%). The remaining 10% corresponds to general interest assignments for the most part, and management activities particularly within the framework of acknowledgment labels (Carnot Institute and ITAI / Agro-industrial Technical Institute).
Research financing in 2008 is broken down as follows:
• MinistryfortheEconomy,Industryand Employment grant in order to carry out “collective” research for the industry: producers and converters of fats and oils. This work includes not only the implementation of studies but also pre- and post-research actions: monitoring, standardisation and scientific circulation.
• Primarily public co-financing within the framework of national or European projects (ANR (French National Research Agency), ACTIA (French Association for Technical Coordination in the Agri-foodstuffs Industry), ADEME (French Agency for the Environment and Energy Management), etc…- it is to be noted that these
represent close on 8% of ITERG’s turnover in 2008).
• Private financing connected with partner research projects, i.e.projects carried out in partnership with a manufacturer, in answer to a very specific need and within a confidential framework.
